BIO:
Sandy is a beautiful long hair red dachshund. She was a breeder dog in South Carolina many years ago. She was recently returned to our rescue from the lady who adopted her in 2011 because her living situation changed and she was no longer able to care for Sandy. We are glad that she is back with us so that we can find her another safe and happy furever home.
Sandy is not extremely social and does not seek out attention, she is actually a bit skittish until she gets to know you and becomes comfortable. She would not do well in an active home because quick movements can scare her. Sandy would do best with a retired person or couple that lives a low-key lifestyle and would like a companion dog. She is a wonderful little girl that is very easy to care for. Sandy has a mild heart murmur but does not require medication at this time.
Sandy wants to have a quiet home with a big soft, comfy bed and someone who will talk to her and pet her. She is housebroken if kept on a schedule, gets along great with other dogs and knows how to behave. Sandy would never do well in a crate due to her background as a breeder dog but you would not have to worry about leaving this sweet girl out in your home because she would not chew anything. She just wants a comfy place to sleep. Are you Sandy’s furever home?
