BIO:
Roxie and Roscoe are a sweet senior bonded pair who deserve a place to call their furever home. Roxie and Roscoe were posted on Craigslist by their owner who was trying to get rid of them because her son was allergic. We emailed her and offered to take them into foster care but she turned us down in order to sell them to someone else for a small amount of money. Two days later they were on Craigslist again, this time listed by the new owner, because they were chasing his cats. They were to be dropped off at the pound and most certainly would be put down because of their age. We rescued them that very day and gave them a safe haven. Roxie is a happy sweet little girl and Roscoe is her brave protector. When we went to pick them up, they were tied outside of the house in the hot sun, no water or shade to be seen. Roxie was lying on her side panting and Roscoe was standing over her, furever her protector. Roscoe is heartworm positive but because of his age cannot go through the difficult treatment. He is on a slow kill method of treatment and should be clear of heartworms in 2 to 3 months. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
