BIO:

Snickers is a long hair dachshund mix. Her mother, a red purebred dachshund, and her four other siblings were dumped at a high kill shelter.  She was saved with his family but had to fight Parvo, kennel cough and worms. She is doing great now and is just a cute little puppy. She enjoys playing with her brother and her foster furfriends.  When her brother gets the best of her, she gets made and really growls at him. It is so cute!!! Once she has played awhile she looks for someone to pick her up and hold her near their chest so she can go to sleep.  She really enjoys laying on someone to feel their warmth.  Snickers is extremely smart and only had to watch the older dogs climb the ramp to the bed one time then she knew how to do it.  She is learning how to potty outside and is really enjoying the warm days when she gets to spend lots of time outside.  Snickers is submissive to most dogs and wants them to love her so she goes up to them and tries to kiss them in the face!  She is scared of loud noises and will sometimes run if you stomp too hard because she is so little.  She would need a home that would be able to dedicate time to teaching her house manners and continue to work on housetraining.  It would be hard for her to be alone 8 hours a day so he is looking for a home where his family can be home to take care of him most of the day or a home that would be willing to put her in doggie daycare. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
