Sweet Pea is a beautiful little girl.  She is a little timid and shy at first, but warms up to people when she's ready.  She is fully house and crate trained.  She does not like to be pet on top of her head or back by strangers.   Due to Sweet Peas past, she east very fast and then wants to eat the other dogs food, we are working on curving this behavior.  She gets along well with her foster brother and sisters once she found her place in the pack.  When it comes to my African grey parrot (Dino) her dachshund hunting skills kick in.  I don’t leave Sweet Pea and Dino alone while he is on his perch!  She walks very well on a leash and is a good passenger in the car.  She loves to snuggle on my lap with the other four furbabies at the same time.  Sweet Pea is very playful and loves to run and play outside.  I am not sure how she would do with children so I would not recommend a home with children under the age of 8 years old.  If you would like to give this beautiful girl a furever home, please fill out an adoption application!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
