BIO:

Greetings and thank you for stopping by to visit with me, my name is Dior and I am a very handsome, chocolate longhaired dachshund.  My foster mom says I'm gorgeous because I have a red tingle to my fur. I was a bit overweight when I came into rescue but I've lost the extra weight and now I am the perfect shape and size. I am a very calm boy and great companion for someone without children, I particularly like men but I live in a home with my foster mom and I love her very much. I absolutely do not want to live with children again because I did not enjoy being carried around and having my tag tugged on. I would much rather get belly rubs and chill on my blankie by your feet.

I am a great leash walker and I am completely crate and house trained. I like toys but I don't like to share them with other dogs so toys are off limits for me in my foster home because I am too possessive of my toys. I also like my food and I get fed in my crate because I don't like other dogs trying to eat my food. I also don't like quick moving folks or surprises; they startle me and I get grumbly. Oh and I almost forgot; I don't do well with nail trims either. I get along great with my foster siblings and I really don't mind having other dogs as companions but I like people much better. If I could be an only dachshund, spoiled rotten, then that would be the ideal home for me because I think that I am pretty darn cool!

Before coming to FDR, I was with a local rescue in Orlando and they were really nice to me, but they don't specialize in dachshunds.  My first family had children and I was a bit nippy since they played too rough with me, but I do really love people.  I am eager to please and extremely obedient. If you are the kind of home that wants a great companion, a good car rider and nice stroll buddy, I am your man!

If you can give me a furever home, please fill out an adoption application today so I can come live with you!
