BIO:
My family named me Rookie because I was the Rookie of the family when they adopted me as a young puppy. Unfortunately they were unable to keep me any longer but wanted to make sure that I was safe and went to a great home so they surrendered me to FDR. I am now being fostered with other dachshunds and I enjoy their company very much! I even like to play with the large female pitty that is so gentle with me. She must know that I am very tiny compared to her.
I am just a young puppy but my foster mom says that I am gorgeous! I have bright, clear blue eyes and a beautiful silver coat with black and tan dappling all over and white accents. I am very playful and I love my toys, especially the stuffing free squeaky toys; they are the best! I’m also very snuggly at night and love, love, love the “Big Bed” so I hope you will allow me to sleep in your “Big Bed” too! I am still learning the whole house training thing so you will need to be patient with me but I am a quick learner and if you have another dachshund that can show me the ropes, that would be even better!
My foster mom has noticed that I can bit a bit timid around new people but once I get to know you I am fine. I’m not really happy about men; they kinda scare me so I might need a home with a guy that is willing to work with me. I came from a home with a mom and dad and two young children so I’m sure I would be fine around guys it just might take me time to warm up. I’m a really good boy and I ride very well in the car if you allow me in your lap.
I’m also a great companion! I love to follow you around and help you with your chores. I know my name and respond well and I will do just about anything for a treat! I can be trained to potty outside, use a doggy door and probably do tricks too! My foster mom says that I am very intelligent; I would tend to agree! If you think that I might be the puppy you want to give a loving and patient home to please fill out an application to adopt me. I can’t wait to meet you!
