BIO:
My name is Spike and although my name sounds tough; I am the exact opposite! Actually, that is why I am in rescue. My old home brought me into the emergency clinic to have me put to sleep because they didn’t want to pay for me to have stitches. I was attacked by another dog in the household (a very large dog) and he won. The nice doctors at the clinic knew I was a good dog and wanted to save my life so they called FDR. The nice people at FDR said they would take me in and find me a loving home and that is exactly what they are doing.
When I first go to my foster home I was so scared that I wouldn’t leave my crate for almost 2 weeks. It took me a little while to work up an appetite too but that’s not a problem anymore. I needed someone to love me and make me feel safe and that’s exactly what my foster mommy did. She loves me very much and tells me what a good boy I am. I am a good boy but I am still scared of big dogs. I don’t think that I would do well in a home with big dogs because I will always be a little afraid of them. I really like playing with my foster brother Nathan. I like other smaller dogs that are around my size.
I also love, love, love belly rubs! Those are my favorite in the whole wide world and I will offer you my tummy all the time just in case you think you might miss an opportunity to rub it! I also love snuggling in bed and sitting on the sofa relaxing. Outside time is also a lot of fun! I like running around and playing and sniffing the yard. So much to do!
I am a wonderful chiweenie that is now ready to go to my furever home. Are you that special home that will love me always and never try to get rid of me? If you are, please apply to adopt me; you won’t be disappointed!
