BIO:

Hi! My name is Valentino but I am so new to this world that I wouldn’t mind if you changed my name. I am so easy going and happy that you will love having me in your home. My foster mommy found me at a shelter in North Carolina. I was the last of a litter of puppies and all my brothers and sisters had already found their forever home. I was brought to the shelter at two weeks old and have never been in a real home until I came to Rhode Island with my foster mommy. Everyone jokes about me not looking like a dachshund but my foster mommy plays dumb and says “really?” I like to think that I am a dachshund because I play with all the other dachshund puppies and they always include me even though I am taller. Who says that all dachshunds have short legs?

Anyway, I don’t mind being a terrier mix because everyone says that I am adorable and that I will get a home quickly. Everyone that spends time with me says they want to keep me. I hope that someone will find my picture and decide to adopt me so that I can have a forever home too. You will see how much fun I am and how easily I learn to do things. I love to play a lot and I think it would be really nice to have a family of people and another dog to play with. I love other dogs and I really like big yards to play in because I have a lot of energy. I am still learning the art of leash walking and using the stairs. My foster mommy only allows me to use the stairs because I have long legs and won’t injure my back. I have a few favorite toys but I always find something to amuse myself with. I have a healthy appetite but my doctor says that I probably won’t be a big dog because of the terrier in me. She thinks I will be around 35 to 40 lbs once I am fully grown. If you look at my paws, they are not big at all actually they are very proportionate to my body. I think that I am gorgeous and I know you will think so too. On top of all that, I am a lovable, silly, happy puppy that wants to find his forever home, just like the dachshunds. Please don’t pass me up because I have long legs, I am just a dachshund at heart!
