BIO:

I am an owner surrender dachshund. My owners had me for over four years. They had a baby and the baby is now two years old and I nipped at the toddler and they did not want me around anymore. When I got to the shelter they took me to the vet for checkup and noticed I would not let anyone touch my ears. I had a very bad ear infection and I had to have medication and ear drops for six weeks before it finally cleared up.

I was so glad to leave the shelter. A nice lady took me to her house where I met two other doxies, a bloodhound, & two cats. We all got along great even though I was nervous. I am still trying to figure out what to expect and I follow my foster mom around looking at her with questioning eyes. I like to lie on the pillow next to her. She giggles when I bark because I have a low gruff bark and she says it sounds funny coming out of my little body. I am a little nervous right now, but I sure love curling up in my foster dads lap and cuddling with my foster mom and the other doxies at night.

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
