BIO:

Chester has a long and sad story. He was originally owned by a man who did not have a permanent home and moved Chester with him from motel to motel. Eventually he went to jail, and poor Chester found himself without a home and without someone to look after him. A good samaritan took him in and contacted our rescue to help find him a furever home. Chester's color is as unique as his history. He is a red and white double  dapple. He has darker red dapple markings on his pretty light red coloring. Chester is a bigger boy and has longer legs that are common with Dachshunds born in the south. He is high energy and would be great in a home where he is walked often and possibly even jogged! Chester has an in your face personality and may will need a strong pack leader to help him find his way. We recommend that Chester goes to a home with Dachshund experience to help make the transition easier on him and his new family. If you can promise Chester that he will be safe furever, please consider applying today!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
