BIO:

Missy is a relatively young lady who was on Craigslist. When I went to pick her up her owner cried when she had to say goodbye, but her tears and love were not enough to prevent poor Missy from contracting heart worms. Missy's old owners didn't even know what heart worms were and because of that ignorance our poor sweet girl endured months of painful and dangerous treatment. Missy is a total cuddle bug and loves to sleep under the blankets in the big bed.  Missy must have been used to produce puppies because she came to us, she was overweight and had the signs of having many litters of puppies.  Missy is house trained and would do well with a home with a doggie door or on a schedule.  She has a gorgeous chiseled face and the most classic Dachshund profile you will ever see. Missy has pretty white spots on her left shoulder and her unique color and pretty face make her a favorite with anyone she meets. Missy likes men as well as women but will need a family who can comfort her and help her feel secure in a new home.  Missy really wants to be with her human at all times.  She will follow you around, sit with you on the couch and would love to go on rides with you.  She cries when you leave but then calms down quickly and will go to her bed and wait for you to return.  Missy would do great as an only “furchild” or can go to a home with other dogs.  Please consider giving Missy the furever home that she deserves!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
