BIO:

Ruby is a beautiful black and tan dachshund but has very long legs but don’t tell her because she thinks she is perfect!  She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in the south but we are not sure why because she is a great girl!  Ruby loves to cuddle w/ her person and snuggle. She adores being beside you at all times & loves for you to show her affection. She's definitely a toy dog and would like any squeak toy, stuffed animal, or raw rides. Ruby knows basic commands such as sit, no, and potty/outside. Ruby would be fine as an only dog because of her loving attention, or she would also do well with other dogs that are not a small breed alpha/aggressive female. Therefore, she'd be good with other dogs her size if they were male or non-aggressive females. Also, she is great with large breed dogs as well such as basset hounds, mastiffs, and great danes as long as they are gentle. With any animal, it will take her a day or two to warm up to them before she starts playing with them. She'll bark and growl at them at first. However, after a few days they'll be best buds because Ruby loves to play all the time. She loves inside and outside equally.   She loves to lay in the grass and soak up the sunshine. Also, she has fun running circles in the yard with her toys trying to play "keep away" from her pup friends. She loves to run and jump because she's only three years old and has lots of energy that needs to be let out. If inside, she'll either be near you or staring out of a window. Ruby is an awesome guard dog because she barks if anything sets foot in your yard. Ruby loves all humans!  She is great with children and adults. She has never snapped at any human and welcomes all positive affection.  Food is never an issue because she'll eat whatever you give her. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
