BIO:
There is something about DJ that just tugs at your heart and makes you fall in love with him. Maybe it’s the look in his eyes that silently cries, “I need you!” DJ is the definition of lap dog. The moment you sit down, there he is begging to sit with you. If you’d let him, he’d kiss you for days! That’s all he wants to do is love you! DJ came from a family with several children and a mother who must have adored him. He’s not the kind of dog you turn loose in your backyard with some food and water and leave alone all day until you decide you have time for him. To be alone would break his heart and his spirit. He loves other dogs and he loves people- especially children. When he first came to me, he was shy and unsure of himself. He wouldn’t come out of his kennel even to eat, but with my three sons, he was a different dog altogether. Even with my youngest who is only three years old, DJ showed no fear and infinite patience. He is eating better now and even sharing his food sometimes, but he looks back at me every few seconds to make sure I’m still there with him and everything is okay. If I’m not with him and another dog tries to eat with him, he’ll walk away and not eat. Sometimes when he’s upset he will hide and not come out until he’s ready. He is very sensitive, very soft-hearted. Only firm and loving discipline! DJ has anxiety issues and needs a very special home with a patient owner who is willing to put the time in to help him. Can you give DJ a furever home?
