BIO:

Duke is an amazing little guy with a very sad story. He was found with another Dachshund running loose, a neighbor called animal control and they were brought to a shelter. A letter was left on the owner’s door but no response. Duke was more than likely kept outside, he was very unsure about how to act inside. He has now become very comfortable inside and is fully potty trained. Duke still has a lot of puppy left in him, he plays well with other dogs and does very well on walks. He loves nothing more than to be right by your side getting his belly rubbed, he will fall asleep in your arms. He doesn’t get into anything or chew on anything he isn’t supposed to in the house. He stays quiet when crated, he is just a little angel.  Please consider giving Duke a furever home by filling out an adoption application.

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
