BIO:

Buddy is a sweet boy that came to FDR from a family that came upon hard times and was unable to keep him or his sibling dachshunds. Buddy wants to be on your lap or in your arms whenever possible. He really enjoys sleeping in the big bed, the rest (ie. Food, water, yard) is all just a big bonus!
Buddy has been with us only a short while but his owner said he gets very protective when in his owner’s arms or in their lap. He has had a tendency to snap at other dogs seeking attention when in his owner’s arms or in an elevated position where he feels he needs to protect his person or territory. We are currently working with a trainer to resolve this issue but he is an older dog that is set in his ways so any potential adopter will need to be aware of this one issue. He would do just fine as an only (spoiled rotten) dog that doesn’t feel threatened by another dogs need for attention.
Buddy is in fantastic health with the exception if needing to have a dental. He is scheduled to have his teeth cleaned and be ready for his furever home very soon! Before he is adopted he will have a clean bill of health and fresh breath to boot. As we get to know more about Buddy’s personality we will update his profile. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
