UPDATED BIO: (06.12.2012)

Everett is a full-blooded standard size dachshund.  He averages between 25-30 lbs.  He has a beautiful shiny red coat and the personality to show it off.  He loves to strut in the house and in the yard, as well as bowing up to show off his masculine stance.  Everett is definitely a window watcher! He likes to be the neighborhood watch by letting everyone know if he sees a squirrel, cat, dog, or humans walk by.  Therefore, needless to say he loves going outside to do his sunbathing.  Everett is a very mature 3 year old that is 100% potty trained.  His only exception would be if in another household with another MALE because he feels the need to mark his territory.  Therefore, Everett would do better in a home with females dogs because of his tendencies to try to be the dominant male.  Also, he is a very playful young fellow.  He would do better in a home with other small or large female dogs bc he loves to chase and play tug.  Everett will give you the "sad eyes" look and whine if he wants attention.  He also loves being beside his person and sleeping in the bed with them, but doesn't like to be picked up.  All Everett wants is for his person to love him unconditionally! If you can give Everett a furever home, please fill out an adoption application today!

BIO:

My name is Everett and I am a happy young boy that will make a wonderful companion for an active family that can give me lots of exercise and attention.  I am named after my foster mommy's friend who saved me on my last day in the shelter. I tend to be a little timid with new people at first, but quickly gain confidence with gentle people.  I am happy to stay in my kennel while you are at work, but I must be walked or participate in vigorous play to satisfy my high-energy needs.  I love to sleep in the big bed at night, but I am also happy to sleep on a dog bed.  I love to cuddle and I get along with all other dogs.  I have a high prey drive.  I am a standard dachshund and my final weight should be about 25 pounds.
