Who's the soft and supple guy, as comfortable as your favorite pair of slippers? Meet Cole Haan, a handsome 4 year old Cocker Spaniel who was turned into the Brooklyn Shelter as a stray. We've since learned that his status was quite a fib, as Cole actually had a home with those who turned him in. It transpires that his family simply did not want him anymore due to his special needs. Sadly, Cole is a seizure dog (these were frequent but with proper medication is under control… he has not had a seizure while in our care). The seizures simply need to be monitored for frequency and duration going forward. Cole is therefore looking for his furever home with someone who is willing to take on his special needs. A home having experience with seizure animals is highly desirable but not essential. Cole is otherwise a healthy dog, who is happy and good natured. He is very playful and enjoys people more than other dogs. He loves to sleep in the big bed and watch out, he may steal the covers… Cole is a beautiful boy that has a full life to live but needs someone to open their heart to his special need. Medication is quick and easy to administer and is just added to his food. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
