BIO:

I am a baby Dachshund/Basset Hound mix who needs a lot of attention because I am so young. I recently spent a few days in the emergency hospital because I got very sick with pneumonia because my mom passed kennel cough to me when I was born. I and my two siblings are the only surviving puppies from a litter of six. I am currently on antibiotics even though I am healed to ensure that the sickies don’t return. I am a healthy and happy puppy now that I have been treated with the proper antibiotics.

I am not yet housetrained as I am just a puppy but I am in the process of learning. I love to play with my siblings as well as my newest friend a kitten. I am considered the shy baby of the group because I like to snuggle into your neck when you hold me but I do get along well with other dogs and cats and I’m not shy about playing! Because I am a puppy I am teething and like to chew on everything I can get my mouth on so please make sure that your home is puppy proof. I am very energetic and fun but I do like my mid afternoon naps. I need be placed in a home that has the time to train and care for a puppy. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
