BIO:

Hershey has had a rough start to life. He was dumped out in a rural area by his owners. He arrived at the shelter under weight, with little fur and an ear infection. Hershey was diagnosed with demodex mange. This is the kind that is not contagious. After 12 weeks of meds and much love, he is a beautiful dog.  Hershey is full of energy & loves to be outside. A fenced in yard would be wonderful for him. If you do not have a fenced in yard, he would need to be walked several times a day, to work out his energy.

Hershey plays well with my 2 female doxies. They love to chase each other around the house & wrestle in the floor. He has to warm up to male dogs he meets in the neighborhood. Hershey also loves to lie on the couch next to you & cuddle. Hershey sleeps in the big bed. If you are looking for a sweet natured boy, that loves to play & chase squirrels, Hershey is the perfect companion for you. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
