BIO:
I was an owner surrender. My dad had to give me up because he lost his job and then his apartment. It has always been just my dad and me living in NYC and so I got used to being the center of his attention. I haven’t spent much time with women so I much prefer to be adopted by a guy. I am a small standard dachshund and my foster dad tells me that I am very handsome.
I can do some really neat tricks like sit on my haunches and shake. I am very affectionate and love to sleep in the big bed with my dad. I grew up in NYC so I am used to being an apartment dog and I walk very well on a leash. I am also completely house trained. I have never been crated so on rare occasion when I am; I do not like it very much and get stressed out.
I have Epilepsy so I require daily dosages of medication but I don’t mind because my foster dad gives them to me in a treat, yummy! I am a very well behaved boy and still very active. You would never guess that I am 9 years old because I have no greys!
I am looking for a very special person to adopt me because of my Epilepsy. Other than that one health issue I am very happy and healthy and am expected to live a long life. If you are the person looking for a companion to spend time with and walk with then I am the dachshund you are looking for. I make a great companion and am always looking for ways to make you smile! :)
We encourage adopters from all over the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law. Thank you for supporting a dachshund in need.
If you would like additional information or have any questions, please feel free to contact the foster family directly. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
