Meet Jojo
Jojo came into our rescue in 2013 with extreme crate aggression and no training. He has a dominant personality and went without any training for the first two years of his life. We have been diligently working with Jojo to help him become a good dog. He is no longer crate aggressive. He is well-adjusted, obedient, and calm. Jojo is not a barker and would do well in an apartment or condo. He is house-trained and crate trained as well. Jojo does not like people who put their face in his face nor does he like grand shows of affection. He needs to have an owner that understands mutual respect of space. Jojo is a very enthusiastic eater and loves feeding time. He does not display possession aggression of his food or crate. He would do exceptionally well as an only dog. Please do not expect Jojo to be a dachshund that will snuggle under the covers or even curly up next to you in bed. He is very independent and enjoys his space and his crate when it''s time to sleep. He is not destructive of toys or bedding and does not chew furniture or other possessions. Jojo enjoys the company of both male and female adults only and a home with children will not be considered for adopting him. He is leash and harness trained and enjoys going for walks and meandering around a secure fenced yard. We will consider a home that does not have a fenced yard with the understanding that he shall never be allowed off leash. As with most dachshunds (hounds) he will certainly chase a squirrel or other small animal. Please do not apply to adopt Jojo if you are not an experienced dachshund owner. Thank you!
