BIO:
My name is Jill and I was dropped off at a high-kill shelter with my three adorable puppies. Nobody wanted to adopt us and because I am a mixed breed; rescues didn’t want to take us in. We were scheduled to be killed when Furever Dachshund Rescue said they would rescue us and that same day a wonderful shelter volunteer snuck us out and took us to a safe place where we stayed until our transport was scheduled. We spent several weeks waiting for our transport to fill but finally got to our foster home.
Now I am waiting for a nice family to adopt me and give me a second chance. I am just a young dog myself so I need to get lots of exercise. I tend to be a bit annoying to older, more laid-back dogs because I always want to play which often annoys them.
I am totally crate trained, I walk very well on a leash, I rarely bark, and I LOVE to snuggle with my human at night in the big bed! I have not displayed any food aggression when my foster dad takes my food bowl away from me nor have I displayed resource guarding. I like kids a lot and have shown to be very tolerant with little ones. I would make a fantastic addition to any family and I would also be a fabulous companion. If you are interested in adopting me please visit the website and fill out an adoption application. You may also contact my foster dad for additional information.

We encourage adopters from all over Northern California and the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $60.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law. Thank you for supporting a dachshund in need.
If you would like additional information or have any questions, please feel free to contact the foster family directly. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
